Buses

Stagecoach run the frequent A1 Service No 11. This service passes through Crosshouse en route from Kilmarnock to Ardrossan. The service stops in several towns and villages including Irvine, Kilwinning and Saltcoats.

Prestwick Airport

Travel time by car from Crosshouse village to Prestwick Airport is 20 - 25 mins. The airport serves over 25 European destinations including Ireland, Barcelona, Budapest and Oslo.

There are two bus services which link Prestwick airport and Kilmarnock bus station. The X16 express which travels directly to Kilmarnock bus station and the slower Service 4 which stops at several stops before reaching Kilmarnock. Both of these services go on to Glasgow Buchanan Street bus station.

There is also a train station at the airport which runs on the Ayrshire Coast Line. The train stops at Irvine where buses run regularly to Crosshouse.

Glasgow International Airport

Glasgow International Airport is 28 miles from Crosshouse village and serves 80 worldwide destinations. Easy to reach by road the airport is also well serviced by buses. The closest railway station is Paisley Gilmour Street from where the airport is a short 2 mile taxi journey.

By Sea

P&O Irish Sea run a service between Troon and Larne in Northern Ireland from March to October. The crossing takes either 1 or 2 hours depending on which boat you take. There is also a year round service between Cairnryan (58 miles from Crosshouse) and Larne.

There are several Scottish islands in near reach of Crosshouse. Caledonian McBrayne run daily services to the island of Arran, the sailing takes just under an hour. A small car ferry also runs between Lochranza on Arran and Claonaig on the Kintyre peninsula. From Claonaig it is a short journey by car to Tayinloan or Kennacraig where ferries run to the islands of Gigha and Islay.
